Wow, this summer has flown by! I can’t believe we are 2 weeks away from September! This has been a busy summer for our little family, which meant that my blog went neglected for many weeks at a time. We actually completed a really big project in our house a little while back- painting the entire downstairs and hanging open shelving above our buffet to create a nice little bar-ish area. I’m completely in love with how it turned out, so I’ve been really particular about when I photograph it- the light has to be perfect and it has to be really clean which means, guess what? It hasn’t been photographed yet! Soon, I promise!
I hadn’t done any other projects or furniture makeovers for a while, until my friend Teri asked if I had anything that might fill a need she had in her living room. In comes this little curbside find and this week’s (very quick) edition of Trashy to Classy! (forgive me reverting back to my cell phone photos- this was a super quick job!)
My attempt to get a layered look.
I wish I could have gotten the turquoise to show through more, but I used primer and latex paint for durability, so I guess that’s the trade off of super durable paint! I think next time I am going to try a wet distress technique. But it’s one less usable item in the landfill, so my job here is done!
